Har-Tru® courts are easier on the body
than other types of courts.

The Har-Tru surface consist of finely crushed green rock particles on top of a base of crushed stone aggregate. Har-Tru courts are the most comfortable surface to play on. The slower bounce results in longer rallies and a chance to utilize a variety of strokes.

The courts require irrigation to maintain moisture in the base. Regular Har-Tru courts have an above ground watering system, generally a sprinkler system. Hydro courts have a below ground watering system. The court is built on top of a controlled water reservoir which provides consistent watering. Both types of courts require regular maintenance and must be reconditioned before the start of play in the spring. These courts are especially popular at tennis and country clubs but can also be built in the backyard of residences. They can also be built on top of existing clay, asphalt or concrete courts.
